n the recent QS World University Rankings the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is for the 7th time the top German university, the 3rd in the European Union (EU), and ranks in the top 50 universitities globally.
The survey on the quality of international universities was made by Quacquarelli Symonds within academics and employers. The survey includes impact factor with number of citations of research publications, the relation and percentage of university and students, international students and employees.
TUM is presently no. 1 in Germany, no. 3 within the EU, no. 50 worldwide. Only the French university system of 5 schools of Université PSL (no. 44) and Institut Polytechnique de Paris with TUM partner École Polytechnique (no. 49) rank higher.
TUM is excellent in further worldwide rankings, no. 12 in the Global University Employability Ranking where companies rate the quality of graduates.
THE World University Rankings by Subject ranks the TUM as
no. 14 in computer science,
no. 24 in engineering,
no. 25 in physical sciences (comprising most natural sciences subjects)
no. 46 in life sciences.
