Rauheit und Erosion
A speckle pattern can be observed when illuminating a rough surface with laser light.
The characteristics of this pattern are depending among other things on the roughness.
This can be used for fast and non-contact determination of roughness parameters.
Speckle-Interferometry is offering different methods (spectral or angular speckle correlation, speckle contrast, …)
for measurement of roughness and derivable quantities, e.g. erosion or surface finish.
Current research objectives at the Institute for Measurement Systems and Sensor Technologies
are the quantitive roughness measurement using Speckle-Interferometry
in combination with shape measurement.
