Welcome to our Website
Our research focuses on theoretical and computational photonics. As a key technology covering all technical applications of electromagnetic radiation from ultraviolet over the visible to the infrared and terahertz spectral range, photonics has a major impact on many technological and economic fields. In close collaboration with experimental groups, we model photonic devices and optical systems for various applications such as metrology and sensing, biomedical imaging, photovoltaics, and optical communications.
Photonics is an inherently interdisciplinary field with strong links to other areas such as nanotechnology, which becomes more and more important for modern photonic devices and structures. Furthermore, computational engineering plays a significant role in our research, involving the development and application of computational models to solve the complex physical problems arising in photonics.
